Smoking Cessation

Break the Chain - Stop Smoking break the chain

Florida Hospital East Orlando, along with all Florida Hospital campuses, became “tobacco-free” in July 2008. We are pleased to offer a smoking cessation course at the Family Health Center.

The Break the Chain™ stop-smoking program is an individualized course of treatment, proven to help you or those you care about quit smoking for good. Upon your commitment to quit, you will meet one-on-one with a physician or team of physicians each week. A treatment plan will be developed that will meet your individual needs. This may include a combination of medications and behavior modification designed to maximize your chance of quitting permanently.

If you have tried to quit before and failed, it may be that you are among the 70% of smokers addicted to the drug nicotine, a primary component of tobacco smoke. Nicotine affects your brain in much the same way as other drugs such as alcohol, cocaine and even heroin. Break the Chain™ offers a way out of this destructive cycle to help you live your life free from the dangers and restrictions tobacco use imposes.

Most insurance plans are accepted for this program and patients pay their regular office co-pay at each visit.
