Dialysis

Dialysis treatments are offered only as an inpatient service for the following:

  • Patients who are admitted emergently and require dialysis
  • Patients who receive dialysis on a routine basis in the community as an outpatient. These patients will receive dialysis while they are admitted. Upon discharge, patients are directed to resume care with the clinic that they are established with prior to discharge.

If a patient begins dialysis treatment at Florida Hospital East Orlando in an emergent situation and is discharged, Florida Hospital East Orlando's Case Management department will assist in coordinating outpatient treatment in the area so the patient can continue on a routine schedule.

Environment

Florida Hospital East Orlando can treat up to three patients in the area at a time.  In addition, treatment can be administered in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or to isolated patients who cannot be transported to the dialysis unit.
