ORLANDO, Fla., June 3, 2010 - Cancer Institute of Florida (CIF) recently started treating patients at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute at the East Orlando campus. CIF offers patients state-of-the-art oncology treatment options and the latest technology in detection, prevention, treatment and research. The physicians with CIF specialize in treating a wide variety of cancers including breast, colon, lung, gastrointestinal and urology as well as hematology, or diseases of the blood. The physicians with CIF who will see patients on a regular basis at Florida Hospital East Orlando include Dr. Raul Castillo, Dr. Sarah George and Dr. Tarek Mekhail, MSc, FRCSI, FRCSEd, sub-specialized in thoracic cancer. The services offered at CIF at East Orlando include an onsite comprehensive lab department, same-day bone marrow biopsies, chemotherapy and more. Florida Hospital East Orlando also has a dedicated oncology unit for inpatient admissions.
